We all love the look of healthy skin! To have a soft, glowing and blemish-free complexion is what everyone wants, but how do you get it?  While picture perfect skin is normal for babies, it’s common to lose elasticity and radiance as we get older.  The good news it, we have some skin care tips to help you keep your skin fresh and youthful! Not only should you stay out of the sun and apply moisturiser regularly, but you can also maintain healthy skin through your diet. Below we will discuss three food types that your skin LOVES!

Antioxidants Unfortunately aging and wrinkles are something that happens to all of us.  While we can’t avoid aging, what we can do is slow the process, maintaining smooth and healthy skin for as long as possible!  Natural antioxidants are a fantastic way to maintain your skin health, as they are known to fight free radicals and repair cell and tissue damage, reducing the signs of aging.  So where can you find these antioxidants?  Blueberries, blackberries and strawberries are all fantastic sources, as are spinach and sunflower seeds.  Chow into these foods whenever possible if you would like your skin to stay younger for longer!

Liquids Most people have heard the beauty tip about drinking 8 glasses of water per day.  However if you haven’t listened, it’s time to start chugging! Consuming water is critical for maintaining your skin’s elasticity and radiance. Of all the skin care tips, this is one that you should not ignore. If you find it difficult to consume lots of water, you can substitute a few glasses for tea to help you out.  Try to find teas with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties as they are a fantastic boost for your skin health! These include green tea and black tea which you can purchase in most supermarkets.

Fats With everyone dieting and watching their weight people tend to believe that fats are bad for us, however this is not entirely true! The intake of healthy fats is critical for our all over health, including our skin!  One of the best skin care tips we can give you is to maintain a diet that eliminates the bad fats while still consuming the good fats. The only question is: which fats are the good fats?  First of all, there are certain types of fish such as tuna, salmon and snapper that contain healthy Omega 3 oils which help to make your skin radiate! These oils can also be found in certain nuts and seeds such as walnuts and flax seeds.  And the last of our skin care tips on healthy fats, try to cook with extra virgin olive oil – your skin will love it!

With this list of skin care tips you should be able to prevent the signs of aging and maintain healthy skin for longer! There are plenty more ways that you can alter your diet in order to care for your skin as well as your overall health; however these should get you started. Begin making changes now to keep your skin glowing and as healthy as possible!
